Galatas Elementary opened in 1992 in the Cochran's Crossing Village of The Woodlands, Texas. Our school was named in honor of Roger L. Galatas, who was a member and past president of the Board of Trustees for the Conroe Independent School District. He was also a past president of the North Harris Montgomery Community College District Foundation and was actively involved with the United Way campaign and the Boy Scouts of America organization. Mr. Galatas was a long-time resident of The Woodlands and participated in many activities at his namesake, Galatas Elementary.
